Research Gap Analysis on AI Chatbots in Psychotherapy: A Comparison of Scientific Output between Algeria (ASJP) and the International Stage (PubMed) for the period 2021-2025

Analyse des lacunes de la recherche sur les chatbots (IA) en psychothérapie : Comparaison de la production scientifique entre l'Algérie (ASJP) et la scène internationale (PubMed) sur la période 2021-2025

Abstract

This descriptive study aims to compare scientific output on the use of chatbots (generated by artificial intelligence) in psychotherapy. To this end, we proceed to analyze 99 research papers published on the Algerian scientific journal platform and 90 studies in the international platform PubMed, in order to identify gaps in research in terms of subject matter and methodology during the period 2021-2025.

To achieve our objectives, we used content analysis based on PRISMA principles and tools. Our results identified gaps and areas of scientific interest for this field of study on both platforms and formulated recommendations for future research on this topic.
