Abstract

This study is situated within the field of text linguistics, an approach concerned with examining the text as an integrated linguistic unit that extends beyond the sentence level. It seeks to analyze the textual relations governing the structural and semantic interconnectedness of textual components. From this linguistic perspective, Surat Al-Duha is approached as a cohesive Qur'anic text through an examination of its textual architecture and the mechanisms underlying meaning construction. The study is grounded in the premise that meaning in Qur'anic discourse is not generated at the level of isolated sentences; rather, it emerges through textual relations that regulate discourse cohesion and coherence. Accordingly, the research draws upon key concepts of textual cohesion, including reference, ellipsis, repetition, antonymic relations, and part-whole relations, in analyzing the textual structure of Surat Al-Duha. The findings demonstrate that Surat Al-Duha constitutes an integrated textual system characterized by a highly organized structure in which cohesive mechanisms interact with communicative intent within a strictly hierarchical framework, thereby producing a unified meaning that is consolatory and directive in purpose.
