The Provisions of Sports Investment in Algerian Law

This study aims to highlight the most significant type of investment outside the hydrocarbons and services sector namely, investment in the sports field while moving beyond the traditional approaches to such investment. Rather, the study seeks to identify modern methods of investing in professional sports clubs. Investment in this field constitutes an important source of profit for the investor. The research findings indicate that the Algerian legislator, despite transforming the professional club into a commercial company specifically a joint-stock company did not extend to sports investment, under the provisions of the investment law, the same advantages accorded to investment in other sectors. The matter was partially remedied by permitting sports associations to invest in sports, albeit without those advantages.
