Abstract

Decentralization has become a significant trend in governance as governments strive to improve public service delivery by transferring authority and decision-making power to local levels. the impact of decentralization and local governance on public service delivery, focusing on how decentralizing authority affects the efficiency, accessibility, and quality of services provided to citizens. The  theoretical and practical aspects of decentralization, analyzing various models of local governance implemented in different countries and regions. It delves into how local governments, with greater autonomy and control over resources, can respond more effectively to the specific needs of their communities. the challenges associated with decentralization, including capacity constraints, resource imbalances, and coordination between local and central governments. Through a comparative analysis of case studies, the study highlights successful examples where decentralization has led to improved public service delivery, as well as instances where the process has faced challenges.
