Abstract

Renewable energy has emerged as a critical component of sustainable economic development in the twenty-first century, offering solutions to the interconnected challenges of energy security, environmental degradation, and climate change. Unlike conventional fossil fuel-based energy sources, renewable energy resources such as solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, and geothermal energy are naturally replenished and produce significantly lower levels of greenhouse gas emissions. Their adoption supports long-term economic growth while promoting environmental sustainability and social well-being. The increasing global demand for energy has highlighted the need for reliable and sustainable energy systems capable of meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own requirements. Renewable energy contributes to sustainable economic development by enhancing energy security, reducing dependence on imported fuels, creating employment opportunities, stimulating technological innovation, and supporting industrial growth. Investments in renewable energy infrastructure have generated significant economic benefits through job creation, increased productivity, and the development of new industries and markets.
