Wind energy has emerged as one of the most important and rapidly growing renewable energy sources in the global transition toward sustainable and low-carbon energy systems. By converting the kinetic energy of moving air into electrical power, wind energy systems provide a clean, renewable, and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional fossil fuel-based electricity generation. Increasing concerns regarding climate change, energy security, and the depletion of non-renewable resources have accelerated the development and deployment of wind energy technologies worldwide. As a result, wind power has become a significant contributor to global electricity production and sustainable economic development. The operation of wind energy systems is based on fundamental principles of aerodynamics, mechanics, and electrical engineering. Wind turbines capture the kinetic energy of wind through rotor blades, which drive generators to produce electricity. Advances in turbine design, materials science, power electronics, and control systems have significantly improved the efficiency, reliability, and economic viability of modern wind energy systems. Both onshore and offshore wind farms are increasingly being utilized to meet growing energy demands while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
