Abstract

This study aimed to identify the current state of Physical Education and Sports instruction at the primary education level. To this end, a descriptive methodology was employed, with a research sample of 110 teachers distributed across several primary schools in the Wilaya of Tlemcen, selected through random sampling. A questionnaire consisting of 31 items divided into three axes was used as the data collection instrument. Following the analysis of the results, the study revealed a deficiency in the professional training of Physical Education and Sports teachers at the primary level with regard to the specific characteristics of this educational stage. Additionally, a shortage of sports facilities and pedagogical resources was identified. The surveyed teachers indicated that the curriculum prescribed by the Ministry would be considered effective provided that all necessary conditions and resources are made available.
