Abstract

This study examines Algerian travel literature as a multifaceted cultural and intellectual phenomenon through selected representative travel narratives produced by Algerian scholars and writers. It aims to analyze the cultural, intellectual, and social dimensions embedded in these texts and to highlight their role in documenting historical realities and shaping cultural identity. The study adopts both descriptive-analytical and historical approaches to trace the evolution of travel writing in Algeria and to interpret its thematic diversity. The findings reveal that Algerian travel literature functions not only as a record of movement but also as a medium for knowledge production, cultural exchange, and identity construction. The study concludes that Algerian travel narratives constitute a valuable documentary heritage that requires further critical editing, preservation, and academic exploration.
