Abstract

Muscular strength is one of the basic physical attributes that directly influences performance level of swimmers, due to its critical function in producing arm propulsive force and enhancing movement efficiency in the aquatic environment. It is through the muscles of the arms, shoulders, and trunk that mechanical force is generated and transmitted into forward acceleration, which minimises the influence of water resistance and positively reflects on the swimmer’s pace and continuity of performance.

Explosive strength is also a vital component at the start phase, as it enables the swimmer to produce maximal force in a short time, delivering a time advantage from the very beginning of the race.     Success in this phase depends on the efficacy of the neuromuscular system in activating fast-twitch muscle fibers and employing them effectively.

Through this study attempt, we wish to highlight the relevance of investigating these variables in a thorough, scientific manner, given their vital role in enhancing race timings and competitive performance among swimmers.
