Abstract

Communication plays a vital role in animal social organization and survival. This paper explores communication systems across animal taxa, including vocal, visual, chemical, and tactile signals. These signals facilitate mating, territory defense, and group coordination.
The paper discusses how communication systems evolve in response to social structure and environmental constraints. Signal complexity often correlates with social complexity. Disruptions to communication caused by human activity are also examined.
The paper concludes that studying animal communication enhances understanding of social evolution and behavioral ecology.
